A Message to the Harts

What Happened?
In an attempt to reduce the feelings of a static system and bring to life the ebbs and flows of an ever-changing Erdreja, I decided to tweak the 10 faction dynamic at this time with some new and refreshing world plot, building alongside an existing world plot line. This involved discussions with staff, plot and NPC’s, and formulating a basic timeline. Initial plot was written and while in its development stage, this information was partially leaked during a sanctioned event. This information quickly degenerated into wonderful stories, rumours and speculation. This led to a large amount of uncertainty for many people.
In order to counteract the rumour mill a decision was made to speak with the faction on an OC basis. I am sorry I was unable to attend the meeting in person at the time along with the relevant department heads.
During the Spring Moot, I and Lorien Trust staff were most impressed with the calm reactions and patience shown while we tried to curtail the rumour mill and clarify the situation. Harts players reacted in a very amicable manner and have proven themselves to be a credit to their faction the LT and to LARP.
Where do we go from here?
The overall tone of the OC visit by several staff was conservative in nature. We believed it was necessary to push forward the proposed timeline. Upon an explanation about the intended plot and its consequences to help dispel many of the rumours the staff present took Q&A’s from relevant players and groups of the Harts. We can confirm there will be Harts camping within the Gryphons and the Dragons at the Fayre and they will have their own camp at the Summer Moot. Camping across other factions is more than acceptable.
Do people need to change the faction on their character cards?
No. We feel that the pride of the faction will continue and we estimate more Harts heroes will rise from the lands and the general population. To this extent we will continue to allow bookings for existing and New Players. Should your group decide to camp in none Harts lands please ensure your group tent is included on the faction map handed to security at each event.
Harts Moot
The Harts are still hosting the Summer Moot and we have no intention to change this. Without offering too much detail, the Moot will have plot to determine and direct the state of Albion at the Gathering and the year ahead. It will also determine the remaining resources the Harts nation has access to.
Oathsworn Harts
In order to assist with the continued role-play of this world plot we stated that we were planning on giving the OS “Oathsworn Harts” to all Harts characters. Some have already claimed this skill; others will automatically have this added following some plot due to take place later in the year.
Harts resources
There have been a number of questions raised about what resources will be available for the Harts, both for the remainder of this year and in the future.
Iconic items & Excalibur: These will continue to exist in game, and be renewed as normal each year unless player action or plot dictates otherwise (as is true for all Faction and Guild "Iconic" items)
Faction Warchest: The 2013 Warchest has already been allocated, and remains available to Harts Command.
Rituals: Vouchers for the Summer Moot have been issued and will remain valid. Ritual slots for the Gathering have not yet been finalised. There will be a reduced number of Harts slots at the gathering but player interaction will determine the exact level. The minimum slots the Harts will receive are 2.
Group rewards
Group packs will be issued as normal at the Gathering, to registered Group Leaders. The contents will depend on the number of pre-booked players within the Group. We will hand out the Harts packs to the Harts NPC's, as with all factions.
In Summary
I hope that these changes will be taken in the spirit that they were intended, a dynamic world impacting plot that will see future player action remap the landscape of the game on a global level and not as the end of the story, just the end of the prologue.
